#Help! It's raining insults
Thursday, March 11, 2010 @ 4:23 AM

Insults. Meaning: To mock someone or make fun of his flaws on purpose.
Examples: School, School, School, etc.(school)

Firstly, I would like to make a stand here that insults are in fact bullying. Saying this makes me sound like I am going to drone on about bullying like a naggy school Councillor. Have no fear, I am just a normal kid. :)
But the point I would like to make across is that insulting other kids in class has become so COMMON that it has even been overlooked as bullying. Is it acceptable for it to become a part and parcel of life?
Just today, I witnessed a classmate of mine being insulted for his apparent failure to achieve awesome results in a test. Just today, I witnessed with my very own eyes my friend being insulted because he was playing an 'outdated' handphone game and was unfairly termed as childish. Seeing all my closest friends being insulted really makes me feel useless not to be able just to go and help him to confront the bully. But what can we do about it? What can we do to stop ourselves from being exposed to the aggressive world of bullies?
Well here are some basic steps/methods I think are kind of useful.

1) Try to keep a low-profile.
-Doing so will not expose your weird ( I am sorry, I mean "Not-the-norm") actions. Thus, potential bullies will not be able to make fun of your particular 'specialty' and keep mocking you.
Of course by keeping a low-profile, I do not mean that you be quiet and emo, and turn anti-social!
2) Know the bully as you know yourself.
-You will be able to know the bully's weaknesses too and actually turn the tides against him and win the war of words!
Fortunately, I have not seen cases of over-insulting, and thus I hope that insulting should not remain a pastime/hobby of anyone and yep, just stay optimistic guys! No need to feel overly affected emotionally by insults!

i'm like the ringleader,

i call the shots.

i chose to fight,

i command respect -

-when I put on a show.
